On 24 September 2025, a seminar was held at the University of Granada within the framework of the TRACHMED Project.

The event was coordinated by Prof. Francisco Entrena-Durán (TRACHMED Project Lead, University of Granada) and brought together scholars to examine key intersections between migration, climate change, and energy insecurity in the Mediterranean region.

The seminar featured the following presentations:

  • Rafael Martínez Martín (University of Granada) – The Working Conditions of Immigrants in Southern EU Countries
  • Kamal Labassi (Université Chouaïb Doukkali, Morocco) – Satellite Tools for Understanding Migration Patterns in the Context of Climate Change
  • Pilar Morales Giner (University of Granada) – Climate (Im)Mobility Framings in the Spanish Press
  • Lucía Granda Ortells (University of Granada) – Externalization and Migration Governance in the Mediterranean: The Case of Tunisia

The seminar facilitated interdisciplinary dialogue on labour conditions, climate-induced mobility, media framings, and migration governance, contributing to TRACHMED’s broader objective of advancing critical and policy-relevant research on transnational challenges in the Mediterranean.
